Jay-Z goes hands-on for trademarks

Much to the dismay of conspiracy theorists and tinfoil hat enthusiasts everywhere, the famous rapper Jay-Z has been using the hand sign shown in the image herein for quite some time now.

However, the backlashed he received was not due to the „Illuminati confirmed” crowd, but from the Professional wrestler Dallas Page, who popularized the „diamond cutter” hand sign and registered it as a trademark for clothing in the US.

Consequently, Dallas Page sued Jay-Z and Roc-A-Fella Records in 2005 for trademark infringement of the „diamond cutter”. He claimed the trademark was unlawfully used on clothes and the cover of the rap album „Roc la Familia”. Eventually, the case was settled out of court for an unknown amount of money being paid to Dallas Page.

It must be noted that in the meantime Jay-Z has kept trying to register under his real name, Carter Shawn, the previously mentioned hand sign 8 times since 2007, but without any success.

This just goes to show that Intellectual Property matters more than the new world order.
