What would millenials do without the ability to immediately reply to random 1 AM Instagram messages or to constantly, yet efficiently spread their opinions on social media?

Guess, we’ll never know. However, we do know that we can thank Christopher Latham Sholes for inventing and patenting in 1878 what we currently know as being the QWERTY keyboard layout.

The previous layouts mostly consisted out of alphabetical pairings, which would make modern text processing cumbersome to say the least.
